A Very Short Selection

I sit here patiently in the shadows. Waiting for someone to find my soulless body, waiting for my killer to be caught. My body to be buried properly in the ground.

I was an average kid. Who wasn’t stupid but not bright. Not famous but not standing in the

shadows. “Dude you’re slow,” Theo my friend said, “Get your head out of the clouds,” as I yanked head phones out of my ears. “Dang it’s hot.” Middle of summer January and we were wearing short sleeves.” A black shot passed our eyes as a car sped past us.

“Idiot.” I said. But soon I’d be the idiot. I didn’t know we would be lifeless with red snow around us.
